Dr. Anwarul Iqbal

Dr. Anwarul Iqbal, a distinguished and renowned public health physician with a wealth of experience, boasts a remarkable career highlighted by numerous achievements. His expertise extends to public health, holding an MSc from Umea University, Sweden obtaining distinction, securing more than 90% marks. His notable contributions to the healthcare system both in Bangladesh and globally is remarkable. He has earned many international recognitions. Namely, his statement which was published in “The New York Times” during the Covid-19 pandemic, he is a leading media personal having multiple talk shows on Covid, Dengue, Diarrheal Disease, Nipa Virus, and other public health issues both nationally and internationally thus, was awarded by Rotary International as a frontline fighter against Covid-19. Dr. Iqbal was part of a cholera case management team appointed as a Medical Epidemiologist by WHO in “Global Outbreak Alert & Response Network” (GOARN) during the massive Cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe in 2009. Has also worked jointly with National Institute of Health (NIH) US, Maryland University and John Hopkins University.

Dr. Iqbal has 14 international publications in different renowned international journals namely, Population & Nutrition, Epidemiol Infection, International Child Health, Diarrheal Disease & Research etc. and presented abstracts at the ASCON conference.

He worked in ICDDR, B, for more than 20 years and headed the epidemic control & preparedness program for 3 years. Last 10 years he was the President of Thyrocare Bangladesh Ltd.

Now appointed as the Chief Executive Officer at Ascent Health, he brings a strategic vision for marketing operations, compliance with government rules, policy development, and enhancing patient outcomes. His extensive background and global experience position him to make substantial contributions to Ascent Health’s success.
