Maher Murshed

Mr. Maher Murshed is the Chairman of Ascent Group in Bangladesh. In his role, Maher is responsible for overseeing the implementation of policies, regulations, and procedures to fulfill the mission of the Group. With a strong focus on achieving growth and development, Maher ensures effective organizational management, structure, and a positive working environment for the employees. ASCENT GROUP, under Maher’s leadership, comprises eight companies in various service sectors.

The journey began in 1977 with the establishment of Scholastica School, aimed at providing a complete English medium primary, secondary, and high school program in Bangladesh. The school’s success led to its incorporation as a private limited company in 1997 and subsequently as a public company in 2010. While education remains the primary focus of the Group, under Maher’s guidance, it has expanded its operations to include retailing, construction, Information Technology & Information Systems, Transport & Logistics, Printing & Publishing, and Training & Professional Development.

Born in 1975, Maher Murshed’s journey with Ascent Group began in 1999 when he joined under the leadership of his mother. He started as the Director of Projects, primarily focusing on the successful management of the renowned private school, Scholastica in Dhaka. Maher’s dedication, strategic vision, and leadership have been instrumental in driving the Group’s success and growth over the years.
